Christina Maffei, Mixologist
For award winning mixologist Christina Maffei, her "Liquid Artistry" philosophy of cocktail making combines bar chef creativity with artisanal ingredients and spirits. She achieves tantalizing taste sensations with market fresh ingredients, homemade components such as infusions, herbal and spice flavored syrups, and fresh squeezed juices and purees.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Maffei began her food and beverage career in Chicago with renowned Chef Charlie Trotter. Her accomplishments in the windy city also include positions at the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, as well as opening the Trump International Hotel and Tower Chicago, where she managed the award winning restaurant Sixteen.
Maffei relocated to Hawaii in 2009 to open the Trump International Hotel Waikiki Beach Walk where she currently oversees the operation as Food and Beverage Manager. In this role she is tasked with elevating a cocktail culture that highlights not just the "making of drinks", but their creation.
Most recently Maffei was an integral part of the pre-opening of the newest addition to the Trump Hotel Collection in Panama City, Panama.
Maffei is a certified sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers and a member of the US Bartenders Guild. In 2011 she bested an impressive field of mixologists to capture the title of creating 'The World's Best Mai Tai.'
